Software Engineer - Data Scientist

We are looking for a Data Scientist with an agile mindset who can move seamlessly between fast experimentation and scalable delivery. You will be able to build Proof of Concepts (PoCs) quickly, while also contributing to production-level, high-scalability AI initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver PoCs: design, develop, and validate AI/analytics prototypes to demonstrate value and support decision-making.
• Build scalable AI solutions: develop robust models and data-driven services that can operate reliably in production.
• Develop automation use cases: create AI-driven automation to optimize workflows and improve efficiency.
• Create predictive models: build and deploy models for prediction, classification, forecasting, and decision support.
• Implement Generative AI (GenAI): contribute to GenAI use cases (e.g., assistants, text generation, document-related intelligence), when relevant.
• Work with engineering and business stakeholders: collaborate across teams to translate needs into technical solutions and measurable outcomes.
• Ensure model and data quality: monitor performance, validate results, and improve reliability over time (data quality, evaluation, documentation).
• Communicate results clearly: present insights, model behavior, and outcomes to both technical and non-technical audiences.

The role will cover a broad range of use cases, including:

• Automation and optimization of business workflows
• Predictive analytics (forecasting, classification, churn/retention, etc.)
• Generative AI (GenAI) solutions where relevant

Technical skills 

• Statistical analysis & experimentation (hypothesis testing, A/B testing, causal thinking basics)
• Programming for data science: Python and/or R 
  • Data wrangling, modeling workflows, reproducible code
• Data handling & large datasets 
  • SQL (must-have)
  • Scalable data concepts (and Spark if applicable)
• Machine Learning 
  • Supervised/unsupervised learning, feature engineering, evaluation metrics
• Deep Learning (optional but valued)
  • Core neural network concepts; frameworks as applicable
• Generative AI (GenAI) & LLM concepts (depending on role) 
  • Prompting, embeddings, RAG, evaluation basics, safe usage
• LLM development tooling (if GenAI is in scope) 
  • Example frameworks: LangChain / LlamaIndex (or equivalents)
• Data pipelines & ETL/ELT 
  • Orchestration, data quality, reliable data preparation
• Data modeling 
  • Dimensional modeling concepts (star/snowflake), schema design mindset
• Model evaluation & validation 
  • Cross-validation, offline/online monitoring concepts
• MLOps fundamentals 
  • Deployment concepts, versioning, monitoring, retraining workflows
• Data visualization & storytelling 
  • BI awareness + dashboards (tools depending on your stack)
